Chapter Twenty Five

With a sigh, I looked at myself in the mirror. Since we were going to be having a nice and casual dinner, I wore a black and white striped jumpsuit that had a v-neck cut. I kept my makeup light and my hair in waves.

This is good right? I look good... I think.

"You look beautiful."

I looked up at Arnav through the mirror, who wore a black T-shirt and dark washed jeans, his Rolex showing off with pride on his wrist.

Geez, how much must've that cost? Probably as much as its pride.

"You're looking quite handsome yourself," I smiled softly, forgetting about the watch.

With a smile, he walked over to me and I turned to him. As his hands went to my waist, my arms wrapped themselves around his neck.

"Shall we get going?"

I nodded and he gave me a quick kiss before leading me out. When we got outside, the boat was already waiting for us, ready to take us back to the mainland. Once we got on, it didn't take long before we arrived and were taken to a restaurant by car.

Honestly, Cuba is just absolutely beautiful!

When we got to the restaurant, we were seated at a booth in the corner. Going through the menu and choosing what we wanted to eat, we placed our order with the waiter and he disappeared.

"This place is really cute," I said, glancing around.

There were other couples in the restaurant as well, along with a few families.

"I thought we could do something different instead of just staying on the island."

I nodded in acknowledgement, still glancing around.

"Something on your mind?"

My eyes met his and I could see concern in his eyes. "What makes you think that?"

"Well for one, you didn't deny it."

Oh... um-

Arnav reached out for my hand and took it in his. There was a small candle that sat in the middle of the table, causing for our joined hands to make a shadow against the wall.

"Talk to me."

Um... I mean what do I say? Ever since the thought of his past came to mind, I haven't stopped thinking about it at all. I mean-

"Hey..."

I looked up at him.

"You can talk to me about anything, you know that right?"

Sigh.... I may as well. "Um... there was something that's been poking in the back of my head recently."

His eyebrows met in the middle as he looked at me in confusion.

"Uh well... before we got married... my cousin would show me articles and magazines about you."

"Okay...?"

"About your past relationships and flings," I nearly whispered.

"Oh... I see."

I didn't say anything, pursing my lips and looking to the side. Arnav didn't say anything either for a moment, just toying with my fingers, until he finally spoke.

"Does it bother you?"

My eyes met his, which were already on me. "Um... no... not really, no."

He continued to look at me, so I elaborated.

"Everyone has their past - just because mine wasn't really anything and boring, doesn't mean yours has to be too."

"Your past isn't boring."

"In comparison to yours, I'd say so."

"Khushi," he sighed.

I simply shrugged, looking at our joined hands. "I'm not in the least bit surprised that you were once involved with so many girls, I mean look at you - you're Arnav Singh Raizada, hotshot CEO and gorgeous. Why wouldn't you have had girls flocking all over you?"

"You think I'm gorgeous?"

Fuck! Me and my big mouth!

I looked up at Arnav and I could see a faint smile dripping on his lips. His humor was very much evident in his eyes as they gleamed in the candlelight.

Eeeppp!!!

"I think you're gorgeous too."

Blush immediately swept across my cheeks as I looked away.

I... he... awww!

Arnav sighed and toyed with my ring. "I admit, over the years I have been involved with some women, but most of the tabloids were wrong; some were simply business partners, secretaries, and so on - nothing else."

I looked back up at him. "Well, some of the stories were absurd, so they were kinda hard to believe. But others that were saying you went to a hotel with a girl at 12 and didn't come out until the sun was up, well... those I believe... and I'm assuming I'm right to believe they're true?"

Arnav nodded. "Yeah...."

Just then, our food arrived and it looked absolutely delicious! I freed my hand from Arnav's, although he didn't exactly look so happy about it, but I was ready to pig out over this steak of mine - with etiquette of course, we're out in public.

Arnav and I began to eat, not saying anything for the moment, until Arnav finally spoke.

"Khushi, you are being honest with me, right?"

I paused mid-chew and looked at him.

"Because if it does bother you, I want you to tell me."

I shook my head, gulping down my food. "It doesn't. Like I said, I get it; everyone has their past, and just because I never had a boyfriend before or any kinds of relationships, doesn't necessarily mean it has to be the same for you. You've dated and have been... intimate with them and that's okay. I get it."

Arnav looked down at his food and went into thought. I watched him as I ate, curious as to what was going on through that head of his.

"Khushi there's... there's something I need to talk to you about. ...something I've never told anyone before."

Oh? "What is it about?"

"I'll tell you once we're done, go ahead and finish your food," and he resumed eating.

Wha- finish my food? Well how exactly am I supposed to-! Actually, that's a lie, I'm a pig, I can eat this easily but I won't be able to do that patiently! What does he want to tell me? I really want to know now thanks to this suspense!

*~*

It wasn't long before we finished eating and were ready to leave, although Arnav had offered to get desert, but I had refused. I wanted to know what he had to say, and I didn't want to waste anymore time. So once the bill was settled, Arnav and I headed out and walked along the streets. Now I've failed to mention that we have security, but they were barely noticeable, blending into the crowd, ready to jump if necessary. They don't stay on the island with us but on a yacht, making sure no intruders came by, which didn't exactly make any sense to me, but oh well, I guess that's their job.

I mean who would possibly try to come our way? Oh well.

Arnav and I strolled along the street, hand in hand. He wasn't saying anything, but my eyes were on him, ears ready to hear.

"You're really curious to know, aren't you," he chuckled lightly, looking at me.

"I feel like I'm in a Bollywood soap with the amount of suspense you're putting."

Arnav laughed at that and I sighed - I just love the sound of his laugh.

"Well, I guess you have a point but alright, I should just get it over with."

We were now near the docks, walking towards the boat.

"It's... it's somewhat embarrassing for me, to be honest," he began. "I was young and stupid, I knew I shouldn't have done it but... I did it for years."

Arnav didn't say anything, but I gave him his moment. He seemed to be struggling in gathering his words. Whatever it is that he's about to tell me must be really important and serious, given that he said he's never told anyone about this before.

Question is, do I really want to hear this?
